In 2022, the Kentucky Department of Education established guidelines on how schools and districts may create a Seal of Arts Excellence to recognize seniors for outstanding artistic achievement during their high school career. In August 2024, George Rogers Clark High School approved its requirements for the Clark County Seal of Arts Excellence.
Students may earn the Clark County Seal of Arts Excellence in the areas of dance, drama, music, or visual art. For all areas, earning the Seal of Arts Excellence requires a high school courseload of at least four classes that will build upon the skills in their chosen artform as well as a demonstration of their artistry through a portfolio that includes documents, videos, and other pieces of evidence to be evaluated by a panel.
