The whole art of teaching is only the art of awakening the natural curiosity of young minds for the purpose of satisfying it afterwards. --Anatole France
Stephanie Wilson, Visual Art
Mrs. Wilson grew up in Lincoln County and went on to attend EKU, majoring in art education. She started teaching humanities at GRC in 2011, and now teaches Art I, Ceramics, Sculpture, and Cohort Visual Arts. She likes long walks on the beach, hanging out with family/friends and being outside. Her two-year-old daughter and husband keeps her on my toes! She loves the arts, as they have always been a part of her life--the process and idea of creating something out of nothing, whether it be a painting, ceramic piece or even music, has always interested her. To her, the arts are life and who we naturally are. |
Michele Johnson, Visual Art
Ms. Johnson grew up in Clark County, graduated from George Rogers Clark HS, and earned her Master’s in Art Education from Eastern Kentucky University. She worked as a middle school art teacher at Powell County Middle school from 1991-2000 when she accepted a position teaching art here at GRC. Ms. Johnson has always loved making art. From a very young age, she would make art. Her first art show was in second grade and one of her earliest memories. She chose to become a teacher because she wanted to share her love of the arts with other people.
