APAH FRQ Practice & Test Day Tips

Attached is a set of FRQ prompts for practice. These are the EXACT TWO QUESTION TYPES that will be on the exam Friday, 12pm.

You should have received your AP Art History exam entry ticket today.  If you haven't, you need to look through your junk mail and find it today!  There's a demo you need to go through, and you need to write your AP ID # (given in the email) on every page of your document. 

I STRONGLY SUGGEST SETTING UP YOUR ESSAYS TODAY, so you can save time and a bit of stress tomorrow.

Control what you can, including:

• Pre-writing/typing your AP ID# on every page .
• Reading this super helpful PowerPoint about everything you need to know about taking the exam.
• Figuring out the accepted file formats to upload your essay.
  • If you have a newer phone & you’ll be taking photos of handwritten work, your phone may store them in the HEIC format.  This format is NOT accepted for the AP exam.  See the Slides above to learn how to fix this.
• Getting out any handbooks you have and organizing them in chronological order, with post-it tabs on any sub-periods (Early Empire, High Empire, Rococo, Happenings, etc).
• Getting out the full list of the 250, or having the tab open in your browser
  • These are for reference only.  BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL THAT YOU DO NOT COPY OR CUT/PASTE A SINGLE WORD OR IDEA!!!  THAT’S CHEATING AND THEY’LL FIND YOU, AND YOU’LL REGRET IT. 
• Going to the public library or BCTC parking lot with your device to check internet availability, if needed.
• Sleeping at a decent time.
• Eating a breakfast/lunch that won't give you a stomach-ache during the exam.
• Going to the restroom before the exam.
• Reminding everyone in the house to NOT STREAM or use the internet during the exam (it's less than an hour--watching Tiger King or Hoarders can wait!).

If you write your responses today (Wednesday) or tomorrow by 4pm, I'll respond with comments and help. We can Zoom meet if you want, AFTER you submit your responses to me.  If you want a second set of prompts after that, I can provide it.

Remember: 45 minutes, two questions, it's open-note and the only things that will be different from these prompts are the artworks and themes. You can do this!

2. Download the FRQ1 Long Comparison prompt, but don’t read it yet!
3. Set your timer for 25 minutes, then respond to the essay.
4. You have five minutes to upload your essay, simulate this by sharing your Doc or images with Lowther on Google Classroom, if possible.

 
Part Two:

1. Watch this video before writing for tips on how to write the essay (Make sure you're watching the Continuity and Change FRQ video).
2. Download the FRQ2 Continuity and Change prompt, but don’t read it yet!
3. Set your timer for 15 minutes, then respond to the essay.
4. You have five minutes to upload your essay, simulate this by sharing your Doc or images with Lowther on Google Classroom, if possible.
