Assignments for March 7, 2017

Hello, Students!  Caroline and I are at the state Poetry Out Loud finals; be sure to send her good vibes as she represents GRC today in Frankfort!

Today's Assignments (ask a friend to log you in if there are issues):

• Task One: Go to noredink.com and sign up for a student account, using class code: big seal 61 (MUST INCLUDE SPACES)
  • Input your information, and select your interests—the program will stop you after a while.
  • Once you’re done, complete the Unit Diagnostic for “Clauses, Colons, and Modifiers”.
  • After taking the diagnostic, explanations will come up.  Complete the “fixes” and mini lessons provided, until the score comes up.  I'll be able to see your score, so no need to report to Edmodo.
  • When finished, Chromebooks must be logged off & shut down, and returned to the cart before beginning Task Two.
• Task Two: With the remaining time after the computer activity, get into your groups and finalize your vocab skits for the vocab words.  One group should stay in the classroom, while the other goes to the Piano Lab (cut through the choir room, politely).
  • You know how to do this, but make sure to include:
    • Sentences in proper context
    • A musical element
    • Full group participation
    • Humor
    • At least one word per person
  • You must FINISH and rehearse this today, to present on Thursday. LAST CHANCE!
• Task Two-point-five: A few “Fake News” groups should quickly rehearse their presentation for Thursday, then return to their groups.
• Remind Shelby she will present her poem on Thursday!
