Items Due Today: Nothing

Due Next Class: Nothing is due next class

What we did today: Broke up into grade level groups.
  • Sophomores: Divided into two groups: "The Tell-Tale Heart" and "The Fall of the House of Usher".  Students worked together to close read, annotate, and analyze the text.
  • Juniors: Worked with Lowther on pages 1-3 of AP Lang textbook.  What is rhetoric?  Definitions, key terms, examples (Lou Gehrig's farewell speech to the New York Yankees fans and players), Aristotle's rhetorical triangle

What we did yesterday: Worked in computer lab to continue/finish writing Storytelling Essay (submitted via Edmodo).

Skills: Annotation and literary analysis; creativity; recall/memorization; independent thought
