"Greetings from ArtsBridge! This summer we are offering the prestigious musical theatre and acting programs which we have offered for the many years, as well as our two new summer programs for ArtSong and Chamber Orchestra. Here's a little bit about our programs: All of our two-week ArtsBridge Summer programs have a focus on college audition preparation - that's what sets us apart. ArtsBridge students have a superb reputation of being so well prepared for the audition process, with ABS alumni enrolled at top college and conservatory programs across the country. This year, in addition to our musical theater and acting programs, we are offering two new classical music programs. Here's a taste of what each of our programs has to offer. You can also read more on our website. ArtsBridge Summer Musical Theater and Acting: Musical Theater in its 8th summer and Acting in its 4th, these programs have perfected the details of how to prepare students for theater college auditions. Students considering a major or minor in musical theater or acting gain valuable insight into what a conservatory-style training program is like. Classes are taught by faculty from top colleges and conservatories, including Carnegie Mellon, Baldwin Wallace, Syracuse, Rutgers, University of Minnesota-Guthrie and more. Both programs will take place at the University of Minnesota from July 29 — August 30, 2017. Two New Programs: ArtsBridge Summer ArtSong: Students concentrate on solo classical vocal skills within the art song repertoire, working with faculty from top college and conservatory programs, including Patty Thom (Boston Conservatory at Berklee), Salvatore Champagne (Oberlin), and Alison D'Amato (Eastman School of Music). The curriculum will focus on vocal technique, diction and language, repertoire, acting for singers, and performance and audition skills in addition to guest master classes and workshops on various musical topics and college/conservatory auditions. ArtsBridge Summer Chamber Orchestra: Students explore both traditional and contemporary chamber orchestra repertoire conducted and led by Ben Bolter, Co-Director of the Contemporary Music Ensemble at Northwestern University Bienen School of Music. The curriculum is focused on orchestral repertoire, master classes, excerpt study, group workshops, and presentations on various musical topics as well as college/conservatory admissions. Members of the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) will be in residence for workshops, sectionals, master classes and a side by side performance of Terry Riley’s "In C.” The orchestra will also perform Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 3 - the “Scottish."
