Many of GRC's students have gone on to Morehead State University, earning scholarships, accolades, and degrees from this nearby accredited institution.
Academic Programs Educational Events and Outreach Kentucky Folk Art Center (Great for Cohort Arts Event requirement!) Summer Arts Academy MSU hosts an on-site, six-day Summer Arts Academy for high school students in all arts disciplines and creative writing. Some financial aid may be available. Applications for 2016 are not yet available, but information about the program may be found here. From the MSU application flyer: "The Academy consists of six full days of activities, including individual and group instruction in your chosen area (music, theatre, art and design, or creative writing). Evening activities include presentations and performances by faculty as well as recreational activities. The Academy is open to all high school students (incoming freshman through graduating seniors). As this summer starts to wind down, the last thing on students' minds may be what they are going to do next summer. However, it's never too early to research academic, performance, and scholarship opportunities, in order to work on audition materials throughout the year. Students in the Fine Arts Cohort, especially those in Ms. Lowther's Connections group, will be working on planning for their near and post-secondary futures through careful and active attention to:
