Morehead State University Summer Arts Academy About the Academy The Morehead State University Summer Arts Academy exists to nurture students' development in the arts in a setting which allows interaction with expert faculty and the opportunity to work with other students who share specific interests in music, theatre, and art & design. All students will select a course of study appropriate to their individual medium , but all will receive the same opportunities. The Academy consists of six full days of activities, including individual and group instruction in your chosen area (music, theatre, and art & design). Recreational activities will include an "Art Hop" night, movie night, bowling night and performances /presentations by Morehead State University Summer Art Academy faculty. EligibilityAll students interested in Music, Theatre, or Art & Design may enroll in the Academy. The Academy is intended for high school students from rising freshman through graduating seniors. Because of the special learning opportunities offered by the Academy, graduating high schools students who will be attending Morehead State University (incoming freshman) in the Arts are highly encouraged to attend. Housing and Food ServiceStudents will live in campus residence halls and be supervised by Academy staff and faculty at all times. These facilities are within walking distance of Baird Music Hall, Claypool-Young Art Building and Breckinridge Hall where they will attend their Academy courses. Housing and food prices are included in the published tuition rates. In addition to bringing their own clothing, toiletries, etc., students must bring their own sheets, pillowcases, and towels.
